4-Peak Tour
The 4-Peak Tour is one of the most beautiful high-altitude hikes in the Salzburg region. Breathtaking views of the Tauern and the Tennengebirge, as well as the colorful alpine flora, make the tour unforgettable.
It connects the four highest peaks around Zauchensee - Arche, Tagweidegg, Schwarzkopf, and Gamskogel. At each peak, an intricately designed cross awaits, along with a checkpoint for the 4-Peak Pass. Those who have collected all the stamps will receive a small reward at the Gamskogelbahn.

Cable Car Hiking on the Adventure Mountain Gamskogel
A holiday in the mountains of Zauchensee simply includes a ride with the Gamskogelbahn. The cable car takes you from the valley station in Zauchensee to the World Cup and adventure mountain in just a few minutes. At the Gamskogelhütte, located at nearly 1,900 m, you will also find the adventure playground "Meistercup der Alpentiere". Zauchi's little train comfortably takes you from the Gamskogelhütte to Seekarsee and back.
Note: In summer, there is a free uphill and downhill ride with the Gamskogelbahn for stays of 3 overnight stays in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee! The ride is also free when purchasing the 12 Peaks Adventure Card.

Right next to the mountain station of the Gamskogelbahn, children immerse themselves in the exciting world of alpine animals. Fox, hare, squirrel, bee, and company invite you to playfully test your animal skills and have a lot of fun in the process.
Around the Adventure Playground, three varied circular paths await with new stations: a “cool” Buggel slide, a giant wing ladder, the tricky antler climber, and a sporty chamois climbing wall.

Moon Path with Observatory
The Moon Path in Zauchensee is a roughly 4 km long themed trail that starts right at the center near the Welcome Gate. On this family-friendly circular route around the lake and through the forest, you will discover exciting and mystical things about our Earth satellite at over 20 interactive stations – playfully and easily understandable.
Children can play at the Moon Playground, while adults can experience the special effects of the moon at moon gymnastic or massage stations. A highlight is the weekly Stargazing at the lakeshore with a view through the telescope.
With a walking time of about 2 hours and a stroller-friendly path, the Moon Path is perfect for families and nature lovers.

Hiking Bus
In the summer, the hiking buses of the Salzburger Sportwelt conveniently and environmentally friendly take you to the most beautiful starting points for your tours. Between June and September, they operate on a two-hour schedule also to and from Zauchensee – in the morning to start your hike and in the evening back to your holiday destination. This way, your car can take a break while you relax and enjoy the mountains.
