Due to the unique location at 1,350 meters, you can enjoy particularly fresh, clear air and guaranteed in winter snow safety and thus the best conditions for your ski holiday. At the same time, the short distances in the village and the direct proximity to the slopes ensure maximum comfort. Whether active holiday or pure relaxation, whether winter holiday or summer holiday – in Zauchensee you can expect ideal conditions for a holiday in a picturesque mountain setting that offers true relaxation.

Arrival by Car

  • A10 Tauernautobahn to Knoten Ennstal, exit 63 - Altenmarkt
  • Follow the E651 / B320 in the direction of Altenmarkt / B99 / Graz
  • Drive to the town center and turn at the market square by the church right or left into Zauchenseestraße - depending on which direction you are coming from to reach the town center.
  • Follow the Zauchenseestraße for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the World Cup resort Zauchensee.

Notes:
  • All roads are well cleared in winter, however, snow chains may be required in heavy snowfall.
  • Vignettenpflicht on all highways in Austria (vignettes are available at rest and gas stations and online)
  • Additional tunnel or toll fees may apply
  • Warning vest requirement for all passengers in the car

Arrival by Electric Car

Ask directly at the individual accommodations about their E-charging stations.

Additionally, there are six E-charging stations in Zauchensee at the parking lot in front of the Alpinseminar. These consist of six Type-2 connections, each with 11 kW. The stations are open 24 hours a day. You can be billed either by kilowatt-hours or by minutes. Payment is possible with various charging cards or by credit card.

Leave the car behind

During your holiday in Zauchensee, you can confidently leave the car behind, because here it means "Ski-In & Ski-Out" - from the apartment or hotel directly to the slopes. And even in summer, you can hike directly from your accommodation into the Salzburg mountains or take advantage of the free hiking bus.

  • How often does the hiking bus run in Zauchensee?
    Several times daily between May and October.

  • Is there a ski bus to other ski areas?
    With the ski buses in Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl and Radstadt-Altenmarkt, you can access the entire ski area Ski amadé without a car. With the regularly operating buses, you can comfortably swing from Radstadt to Altenmarkt and further to Zauchensee or Flachauwinkl and back.

Arrival by Train

Traveling environmentally friendly to Zauchensee. Train, shuttle, ski bus, and hiking bus make the holiday car-free and sustainable. With the mobility ticket, you can travel for free throughout Salzburg.

The regional train station Altenmarkt is serviced hourly. The next express train stations are Radstadt (15 km) and Bischofshofen (37 km). Trains to these two destination stations run several times a day from Salzburg and southern Germany (Munich, Augsburg, Stuttgart, Ulm). There is also a direct EC connection from Switzerland (Zurich) to Radstadt and Bischofshofen.

Guest Mobility Ticket

All our guests receive a Guest Mobility Ticket for the duration of their stay for the free use of all public transport throughout the Salzburgerland.

The Guest Mobility Ticket is already valid for travel within the state of Salzburg. It can be issued through the Pre-Check-In and can be used for both train and bus connections.

Arrival by Plane

Traveling by plane is comfortable to the W.A. Mozart Airport in Salzburg (80 km). The onward journey is made by public transport, a rental car, or an airport transfer.
